Dr. Malik Abraham received his B.S. from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 1980. He attended Doctor William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois and received his D.P.M. in 1984.
Dr. Abraham's first year Podiatric Surgical Residency program was completed in 1985 at the Hines Veterans Administration Hospital. His second year Podiatric Surgical Residency was completed at Loyola University Medical Center in 1986. He was an Assistant Professor at Doctor William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine from 1986 to 1994. He has been on staff at Hines Veterans Administration Hospital since 1988 as a part time attending, teaching residents in clinic and surgery.
Dr. Abraham is double board certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rear Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He has been practicing at NWOS since 1990 and holds privileges at Northwest Community Hospital, Alexian Brothers Medical Center, and Hines VA Hospital. He provides comprehensive evaluation and care for both adult and pediatric foot and ankle conditions. He has specialized training in reconstructive rear foot and ankle procedures, including flatfoot reconstruction, ankle ligament repair, heel and Achilles surgeries, ankle arthroscopy, and numerous mid foot/fore foot procedures, such as bunionectomy procedures, and hammer toe corrections. He incorporates some of the latest non-surgical techniques for conditions that may not require surgery including functional braces and orthoses, and rehabilitation.
When not practicing Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Abraham enjoys spending time with his sons Zachary and Andrew. He is active in a number of sports including basketball, jogging, skiing and fishing. Dr. Abraham has successfully treated hundreds of high level and recreational athletes of all ages for over thirty years.
